The power of words ...
I laughed, I cried and sometimes I was angry. Reading this book was more than a quiet moment in the tub. I will forever look at my own life with new eyes. Thank you for sharing your memoir, now I know that anything is possible for me. I was inspired to judge no one and to forgive all. A new light has shown on this planet with this powerful and honest book.

Great, Insightful work.
I found this book to give a good look at what it is like to grow up in a harsh environment and how to survive.

Great Book!!!
Susana Barlow's book "What Peace There May Be" is a wonderful look into a young girl's experiences, how she views those experiences and then learns to live with them.
This is her story, that of a person who is willing to slow down and look at the portions of life she has been given. Susanna has the very human desire to try to react to the trials she has been portioned in life, but instead chooses to control herself, and observe and then consider those experiences.
She takes a strong and honest look at the challenges that come to her, not willing to make them appear any better or worse than they really are, in both her life and her writing. Yet, she doesn't merely report the events. She communicates to the reader the feelings of struggle between family loyalty and personal perseverance.
Although her position in life attempts to mold her to fit a form, she expresses the quality of self-control to not react to the events in her life, but rather she chooses to act on them, in any little way she can. Her choices in her life are often creative, strong, thoughtful, occasionally humorous and frequently poignant.
The concept that we each can choose whom we become, is a wonderful principle that all should consider continually.
I enjoyed sharing in her experiences and taking a closer look at mine. I would recommend "What Peace There May Be" to everyone who could use some help looking into their own life. Thanks for your book Susanna!

A Heart Warming Story
I LOVED READING THIS BOOK!!! I just could NOT put it down! I read while I worked, I read while I walked, while I shopped, while I was driving, while I was in class, I read until there was no more to read! There are SO many different emotions! My heart was poring out to the characters in so many ways. I was almost to tears part of the time, in happiness and in sorrow. My mind was opened to a clearer point of view. I was VERY impressed about the religion taught, realization was far beyond words.
It gave me a greater outlook on life and made me care more for my own family. I will definitely be reading this book a second time!
